Event Description:
RAVINIA DISTRICT, HIGHLAND PARK, IL (APRIL 2017) – The Ravinia District of Highland Park is pleased to announce its new weekly event ‘Ravinia District Food Truck Thursdays.’ Food Truck Thursdays will kick off June 1st and run through September 14th. The public is invited to come and enjoy a wide variety of food and drinks from more than a dozen food trucks and local restaurants while enjoying live outdoor musical performances.

Food Truck Thursdays will begin at 4:30 p.m. each week and end at dusk, on Dean Avenue between Roger Williams and St. Johns Avenues, and in Jens Jensen Park, across from the Ravinia Metra Station. Free parking is available. Stop by on your way to Ravinia Festival, or come for an evening of live music and fabulous food. Dine al fresco at picnic benches in Jens Jensen Park, or bring a folding chair or picnic blanket.

Everyone will enjoy seeing friends and neighbors, listening to live music and trying the delicious food truck offerings. “We are excited to bring people out this summer for Food Truck Thursdays to dine and listen to music in the beautiful Ravinia District,” says Katie Wiswald, Chair of the Ravinia Business District Association and Vice President at Highland Park Bank & Trust. “The historic Jens Jensen Park is the perfect setting for the community to come together and support local and small businesses.”

Live music, ranging from acoustic rock to jam band covers will include local favorites Bowmanville, Radio Free Honduras, and the Don Stiernberg Trio. These weekly performances are generously sponsored by the Highland Park Community Foundation, Ravinia District Special Service Area 17 property owners and Life Rhythms.

Ravinia District Food Truck Thursdays will be operated by Bensidoun USA, Inc. For a weekly listing of food trucks, entertainment, and event updates, be sure to like and follow Ravinia District of Highland Park on Facebook.
