DESCRIPTION:If you can't explain your business in a few words\, how will anyone know what your business really does? Stop struggling to describe the value statement for your business at networking events and meetings\, and learn how to grab people's attention quickly. In this session\, you will create a 15-20 second statement\, often called an Elevator Speech. He is the former Chief Value Officer of NET(net) Inc.\, Chief Information Officer of SmithBucklin Corporation\, and held senior IT management positions at CNA Insurance Companies as well as Continental Bank. He is a nationally recognized senior executive with global experience in business\, information technology\, management consulting\, business process optimization and applying technology solutions to critical business problems. John is on the Board of Directors of several non-profits and he is a frequent speaker at industry events on topics such as negotiations\, leadership and strategy. John teaches graduate level courses at DePaul University in IT Strategy\, Social Media\, Negotiation\, Leadership and Project Management. He is also a volunteer mentor and consultant with SCORE Chicago.\n\n\n\nSCORE - Counselors to America's Small Business - is a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation\, growth and success of small business in the US.\n\n\n\nThe workshop is presented by SCORE Chicago\, City of Highland Park's Office of Economic Development\, Highland Park Chamber of Commerce\, and the Library.
