U.S. Data and policy implications include that the good health of citizens indeed results in overall better economy. That was never more evident than what we have experienced in our communities during the crisis over the past 18 months.\n\nThe Highland Park Chamber of Commerce is proud to host a community-wide discussion on "The State of Healthcare" on Wednesday\, September 22\, 9:00 - 10:30am. Gabrielle Cummings\, Highland Park Hospital President\, and Mark Pfister\, Executive Director of Lake County Health Department\, will provide an update on healthcare from a local\, regional\, and national level. Employers\, employees\, and all community residents are invited to attend this event that will highlight achievements and lessons learned during the COVID-19 pandemic and the current state of healthcare.\n\n\n\nWe look forward to you being a part of this important conversation. Please see here for more information.\n\n\n\n\n\nOur Speakers:\n\n\n\nGabrielle Cummings\, FACHE is President of NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore) Highland Park Hospital. The NorthShore system includes five other hospitals: Evanston\, Glenbrook\, Northwest Community Healthcare\, Skokie and Swedish. In addition to leading Highland Park Hospital\, she has corporate responsibilities for Laboratory & Pathology Medicine and Women's Health. She currently sits on the Illinois Department of Public Health Hospital Licensing Board.\n\n\n\nMark A. Pfister\, DrPHc\, MSES\, LEHP\, is Executive Director of the Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center. As a public health professional and ecologist for over 30 years\, Mark has researched and identified that the health of individual organisms and populations depends on the health and balance of the biophysical\, and in the case of humans\, socioeconomic environments within their ecosystem. He is currently a DrPH candidate in Public Health at the University of Illinois-Chicago\, School of Public Health. He is the Vice-President and board member of the Northern Illinois Public Health Consortium.
