In addition to the activities in Port Clinton Square, the Sugar Plum Shopping Spree, coordinated by the Downtown Alliance, will offer refreshments, activities, and goodies distributed by participating businesses throughout Downtown Highland Park. Shoppers are invited to participate in the spree by making shopping local at participating downtown businesses (retail, restaurants, coffee stops, and spa services) for a chance to win a $250 gift card to the participating business of their choice.
Holiday Light Show
Using super bright beams of color, patterns, and texture, along with infinite color mixing light washes, the show will create a dynamic effect coordinated with music. The lighting images will be projected onto the surrounding buildings, the crowd, sky, and ground areas. A vertical fogger will shoot streams of fog 20’ into the air adding to the impact of the lighting effects.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to shop and dine locally throughout the holidays with extended parking hours in public parking lots in Downtown Highland Park between Saturday, November 16 and Saturday, December 21. Extended parking hours only pertain to public lots. On-street customer-only parking, disabled parking, fire hydrant, and loading zones will still be enforced. Additionally, permit parking still remains in effect. Employee parking restrictions will be strictly enforced.
