"Unity in Our CommUNITY” exhibition
Celebrate Highland Park's Diversity
"Unity in Our CommUNITY" exhibit on display throughout June
at First Bank of Highland Park
Highland Park is proud to be a community that welcomes diversity. It's our very differences - our countries of origin, culture, religion, political views, personal lifestyles and preferences - that give us strength.
Stop by First Bank of Highland Park throughout June to view the "Unity in Our CommUNITY" exhibition which includes contributions from the following:
- Individuals living or working in the HP community who completed a survey about their personal and cultural background. The results of the survey are shown, in yarn, on the exhibit to symbolize the "common threads" that connect us as a socially-conscious community.
- Highland Park residents who shared their immigration stories.
- "Knitting HP Together", a group of talented knitters known for "yarn bombing" the city.
- Student artists from Family Network's After School Activities Program (ASAP) at Indian Trail School.
The exhibit is displayed on the Ruth Fell Wander Community Art Wall in the lobby of First Bank of Highland Park. It was created in 2002 to showcase novice artwork from local schools and non-profit organizations, as well as to give visibility to the various resources and services offered to the community.
