For February's First Wednesday Connections we are excited and pleased to introduce the Chamber's new President & CEO, Lori Rubin Dekalo!
Biography:
Lori Rubin Dekalo comes to the Highland Park Chamber of Commerce as the owner of LRD Consulting Group for over 20 years. Lori’s consulting focuses on strategic planning and project management for small businesses. Some highlights of projects include; planning business buyouts, associate producer for a documentary, event planning, public relations projects and media events, communications coaching, a full range of video projects (including one for Microsoft and getting to meet Bill Gates), content creation for websites and much more. In addition to her consulting work she has owned and operated a full service delivery company. Lori grew up in an entrepreneurial family and worked in all facets of the family businesses which developed into 3 things; a lifelong passion of wanting to help entrepreneurs thrive, a committed work ethic and the ability to pivot!
In addition, Lori has been on the Board of Directors for Jewish National Fund for over a dozen years and is currently the co-chair for the community breakfast coming up in March in Highland Park. Also for the JNF she serves on the task force for people with Disabilities along with being the chairperson for the general and community campaigns. She was also a national speaker for JNF as well as host to dozens of events over the years. In addition, she’s on the Board of Directors for the American Israel Chamber of Commerce and is involved with the programming and nominations committees.
Lori lived in Highland Park for over 32 years, raised her kids here, then downsized and moved to the city for a few years. She just recently moved back to Highland Park two months ago!
Lori received her B.A. in Communications from Loyola University and more recently her Master of Science degree in Communications from Northwestern University.
Lori is a passionate lifelong learner who enjoys a wide variety of hobbies, classes and interests. Some standouts include ballroom dancing, the theatre, martial arts training; and, of course, art and music in (almost) all its forms! Lori’s most meaningful activity is spending time with family and friends, especially her son David and daughter Shelly.
